Saturday Night Lights (SNL) is a citywide program, led by the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) and its agency and community partners, that provides young people with year-round free, exceptional sports programs on Saturday nights.

SNL Has 3 Main Goals

Provide Safe Spaces for Young People

Goal # 1: Saturday Night Lights partners with 136 gyms citywide to create year-round safe spaces for young people to learn, play, and dream every Saturday night.

Build Positive Relationships and Trust Between Young People and Police Officers

Goal # 2: Saturday Night Lights is a venue for young people and police officers to build positive relationships and trust by mutually engaging in sports programming on Saturday nights.

Connect Young People to Opportunities Beyond Sports

Goal # 3: Each of the Saturday Night Lights programs seeks to connect young people to sports and other opportunities and resources, including academic enhancement, college prep, and career counseling.
